Children and parents are invited to the Hudson Public Library on Saturday, Jan. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. to learn more tips and strategies from expert Scrabble player and 1998 Scrabble champion Ben Loterstein. You might also meet a new Scrabble partner.

Loiterstein is a certified teacher who works with the National Scrabble Association on its School Scrabble Program. More than .5 million students across America are playing Scrabble in their classrooms and Loiterstein helps teachers incorporate Scrabble into their language arts programs.

He also coaches students for Scrabble competitions.

At the library event in Hudson, participants beginning at 2 p.m. will play Scrabble to learn many strategies. Then at 3 p.m., the Scrabble master will simultaneously play 12 games of Scrabble against teams of students in grades fifth through eighth.

Teachers and parents may join one of the teams but only one adult per team and each team can have no more than four people.

Beat Mr. Loiterstein and win a prize!
